Robin Hood and his Merry men call on Collars

Hitting the cinemas a year from now will be director Ridley Scott's take on the familiar "Robin Hood" story, with the title of the same name.
Featuring among others Russell Crow (Gladiators) and Cate Blanchet (Elizabeth) the film is currently being shot at locations around the UK, including some coastal rowing and sailing scenes. For these shots, traditional boatbuilder, Mark Edwards of Richmond has been enlisted to product 4 longboats, and in turn asked us to produce the necessary oars and spars.
With a total requirement for over 70 oars, and with lenghts between 13' and 18' we will be busy over the coming weeks turning the order around to meet with the early June delivery date. Unlike the last time when we producea total of 170 oars for the big budget 2004 movie "Troy"; this time they will be 'used as intended' and will all be made in fine grain Sitka Spruce with hollow looms and well balanced. Let's hope Mr Crow appreciates the work that goes into each oar...
